The Amazing World of Work

This fun and interactive workshop introduces Year 4 - 6 pupils to the exciting world of jobs and careers. Pupils discover that work can be creative, rewarding and meaningful and that there are thousands of different opportunities available—including some very unusual ones!
Through games, quizzes, and discussions, pupils will:
🌍 Explore the huge variety of jobs people do—on land, underground, and even in space
🤔 Learn how their interests, skills, and personality can link to future careers
💬 Practice asking important questions about jobs and their future
🎲 Take part in the fastest finger game - exploring occupations
🧠 Discover how personality types connect to different career pathways
🚀 Gain confidence that it’s okay not to know yet—and that their future can change and grow.

​ The workshop encourages curiosity, builds confidence, and helps pupils begin thinking positively about their future. It shows them that their hobbies, strengths, and passions can lead to exciting possibilities.
Extras
We can include a copy of our Choices booklet which has a series of mind maps on various subjects that help students connect subject interest to careers. Our current edition for schools contains 16 subjects with over 400 careers from art and design to sport.

Career Directions - Year 6 

Our career directions workshop is designed to get students thinking about their futures using both strength cards to explore their skills and our destinations charts to consider the world of work. This 1.5 hour workshop takes the students through their own career pack workbook as they complete a series of fun activities. Part of the session involves selecting from a choice of tasks to get them thinking about what stimulates us at work. Do we like working with things, people, ideas or information? The session culminates with a personality quiz that reveals different jobs they might like to explore.

I only have positive feedback! I enjoyed seeing the students start to explore their interests and realise there were so many possible avenues to go down. The sheets that were laid out on the ground gave them the perfect space to get stuck in and seek out their dream jobs.
