Donation towards the development of Medical Chair
The medical cot chair is at the end of its concept phase and we now expect to have a working prototype for tests and trials in early 2022.
Product Goals
1.Create a seat that allows a child to sit up right in their bed and have play.
2.Provide a transition between being lifted up by pillows to being put into an external chair to the paediatric bed.
3.Light weight, portable and adaptable unit for upright children aged 9 months to 3 years
4.Quick to set up in around 3 mins. and quick to remove
5.Easy to install directly onto the bad using straps to attach to the bed sides.
Functionality
The chair will offer 4 reclining positions and include tray for play opportunities.
Medical Need
Benefits of sitting up for development and play, respiratory system and cardiac system post surgery.
Policy for Early Mobilisation in Intensive care to have children upright as soon as practically possible post surgery.
Funding
Any donations here will go towards the costs of developing the product, running trials and bring these chairs to the hospitals that need them. We will need to raise £100k to provide these units free to the 36 Children's hospitals in the UK. We plan to provide at least 3 units to each hospital.
