Job Description
Working on board ship as a cruiseline stylist or beautician may not be as glamourous as it sounds. A hard working day in one of the beauty or hair salons providing hair services to a range of clients on board ship can be a challenge. An early start and long hours can be expected, a day off per week on an 8 month contract may be the reality. Opportunities exist on board ship for both stylists and beauticians. Cruise staff must have qualifications and professional practice experience in either beauty therapy or hairdressing. An audition for a cruise ship and a test of your technical ability and knowledge is to be expected. Much of you income will come from commissions on products and on each style or beauty session. With time at see you could go on to being an assistant manager or spa manager. Your earnings could also be tax free depending on your time out at sea.
