Careers Guidance Services
We offer career guidance to students and young people who may need guidance or advice about their career direction. We are an independent company and so we seek to act impartially and confidentially to all our clients. We focus our work in the West Kent and Sussex area to include Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Crowborough, Heathfield, Wadhurst and Sevenoaks areas. We work with students as young as 14 or younger (depending on the context) and up to graduates needing further support with the career plans or looking for a change of direction. Our guidance activities do include access to a range of our own resources. Our interviews can be conducted at home or in a coffee shop other location of your choosing. We have DBS clearance for working with young people. We also offer an online skype interview if required.
Interview Process
Our interview process involves an initial assessment of the students, young person's background and educational achievement. We discuss career ideas to date and interest areas. Each interview concludes with some action plans for both us and the client. This may include the assessments tests below as well as a written report from each interview. We recommend a minimum of two sessions. We also interview using construct theory that explores the way we view the world. Find out more here.
Assessments
We offer a range of assessments designed to help students discover more about their skills, qualities and personality We cover a range of well known tests designed by us for students and young people. All our assessments are completed online and students are given feedback during their interview process.
Digital Resources
We have a number of digital magazines that are designed for young people in mind to explore careers. Our popular Career Guidance Charts are well known within schools across the UK and students will have access to the charts free of charge to explore their career ideas.
Youth Careers and Employability Support
This is a 1 hr guidance session offering support to students via zoom. The 1 to 1 interview can focus on any key needs such as:-
- Careers advice and career management
- CV creation
- Searching for jobs using online apps, social media, major websites
- Support with finding work experience
- Application support to UCAS or
- Support with applications to traineeships and apprenticeships
- Other guidance help
Included in this will be
- Free access to our quiz and access to our online resources.
For more than 1 session please book multiples.
Our fees are £25 per hour for zoom or skype calls. For extensive advice and guidance we recommend booking at least 3 sessions as this gives us time to build a bigger picture of the students interests, career plans and also challenges. This also allows us to see the results of any assessments tests completed online and opportunity to feed these back to the student. We produce a write up of each interview to provide a summary of the discussion and include any action points agreed.
