Football is a lucrative business and with the growth of international interest in the premiership and football leagues, clubs continue to look to open up new markets to engage with overseas supporters. With the growth of a business and overseas operations the challenge remains to ensure everyone is on the same page with regard to the direction of the club. Companies as such employ strategy managers tasked to ensure the business is maintaining its focus, priorities and plans. These managers look at the companies strengths weaknesses, and opportunities and look to create plans to align the organisational objectives and set goals, targets to reach. The plans have impact on marketing and advertising campaigns, customer focus, products and operations of the business. The role requires project managements skills, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and ability to influence stake holders towards the proposed plans for the club. Entrants in this role are likely to have business, marketing, finance or project management experience and may be internally promoted or recruited for.
