Hod CarrierHod carriers supply bricks and cement to teams of brick layers, usually one 'hoddie' supplies two brickies. Also called bricklayer labourer or bricklayers mates, the term originates from the Hod, a three sided tool enabling carriers to hoist and carry a number of bricks. Hod carriers also mix and supply cement and assist in general other duties as required.
Their are no set entry requirements to this role but you will need a CSCS card to work on a building site plus PPE (protective gear). You need physical strength to mix, pack, and carry bricks and mortar, and other construction materials necessary for the job.. Your work will much depend on the weather conditions and time of year. During the summer warm and dry months you may well do a lot of hours.
