Operations Manager (religious institution)
This role involves the day to day operations of a large organisation and its building. In addition the role may involve planning events, managing a church database and secretarial staff. The role may involve facility management of contract cleaners, maintenance works, marketing of the premises to the community and timetabling of activities. Good organisational skills and ability to communicate with voluntary teams is important. In smaller churches or religious institutions this role is combined with that of the church secretary or general administrator. Individuals may come to this role with a related background in facilities management, event management or office management depending on the role requirement. Jobs may well be advertised internally or within a religious network.
