If you have strong analytical ability and a keen interest in animal nutrition and have an enquiring mind with enthusiasm for knowledge and learning, this career may be for you. Nutrition is the study how the body digests and assimilates food products and the relationship between diet, health and disease. Poultry nutritionists are specialists in developing nutritional solutions for the poultry industry.  The work involves developing programmes of research into new feeds and assessing the results of any work through scientific principles. Nutritionists have expert knowledge and are able to give commercial advice to customers and able to offer training and support on latest products.  Graduate opportunities may exist with food manufacturers, research institutions or with government departments.  This role is generally taken up by individuals who have a biological science background and usually with masters or PhD level experience in the field.
