Product managers have broad experience in the travel and tour operations sector, knowledge of worldwide or local destinations or their particular niche market. These product managers have good business acumen, leadership ability and are able to identify and take advantage of potential growth areas and new markets in the industry. The product manager is responsible for the commercial and operational success of the travel or tour programme and conduct product planning and pricing, taking into account competitor research and market analysis. The role may involve travel to new product destinations and involve negotiating contracts with suppliers. Outstanding candidates have strong sales ability, excellent knowledge of their markets and operations, with ambition to succeed. Product Managers usually have experience either in a junior product manager role or have contracting experience in the industry. |
