Working on large estates, land owners or for syndicate groups or private shoots these managers organise shoot days or weekends for a variety of game. This involves organising the beaters, loaders, dogs, arrange the hunt lodge, catering for the day, other accommodation as required and liaise with the gamekeepers and associated staff. They are also responsible for health and safety, have knowledge of shoot licencing laws and may also have a role in training and coaching. 50% shooting takes place in Scotland. This role may be combined with that of a gamekeeper.
