My head of department at the careers service once gave me this quote. In my early days, there was a lot to learn about being a careers officer and I made some mistakes. But reflecting on this phrase has led me to the conclusion that yes no one dies from getting the wrong advice or choosing the wrong course. It's a profession that in a sense, isn't as important as say a Doctor or Army Captain. Their decisions are of crucial importance, where death and life are precariously near.
And yet there is a death that any individual goes through who doesn't make wise choices concerning their future career. Many people will tell you that they regret not having thought through their career moves earlier on. Some, in fact would admit to finding themselves tied to a career they wished they had never chosen and perhaps had wondered how had they had got there in the first place! Such career choices are a slow death, so to speak.. So we at Career Guidance Charts are of the opinion that helping graduates, students or those advanced in their career to consider another option is well worth the effort we put into our careers posters or banners. In the end your career is worth giving consideration to.
